Situated in side of hill , Trigance distinguishes itself by it beautiful houses in very white limestones . the village is
dominated by a medieval castle , perched on a rocky spur , it dates the XI° century ( Does not visit - Private ) .
 By loungeing along alley , you can observe very beautiful lintels of doors and visit the museum of the patrimony .
The church St Michel dates the XII° century , it has a square bell tower surmounted by tiles varnished by colour .
 Outside of the village are to see chapels St Julien (1629) and St Roch (1643) , as well as last mill with flour
traditional in activity in the Var ; It is carried away by a big wheel which activates the brook of Riou
(District "Combes de soleils").
 Numerous strolls are possible from Trigance : GR49 ; GR4 , along Jabron , in the surrounding forest and
towards the famous gorges of Verdon. Also to note a festival of theater in July / August .

This small village is situated in 850 metres in height and hides in the heart of pine forests and of oak forests .

Châteauvieux is constitued by 2 villages : The highest and the lowest !
 In the highest the ancient village is built on a cliff , where was a fort of X° century . The church of Romanic type
was built in the XVIII° century , above the key of vault of the door is engraved a Maltese cross , which would
prove the presence in the region of this ancient military and religious order .
 In the lowest , alone is to note the presence of a castle of the XVIII° century , of Provençal architecture but in
very poor condition .
 Take advantage especially of strolls which are offered to you : In search of the history and legends in the chapel
St Pierre in Démueyes built on the ruins of one abbey Cistercian ; In the discovery of the coolness from a
source said miracolous ! Or still to take advantage of hills and the wealth of the nature .

 Being situated on the high valley of Artuby , La Martre is a quiet village surrounded with wood , with mountains
and with prairies . Its climate and the beauty of the site attracted several camps of holidays and secondary homes .
 The village was already quoted in X° century , it was situated then around its fort which was built on the hill
of Castellas and some ruins of which remain .
 Outside of the village on the RD85 , you can see the ancient relay of post office and just before the place said
about the "Logis du pin" is the entrance of Taulane's castle. This castle was built in 1769 , next to the ruins
of the medieval castle , it is of style Louis XVI and serves as hotel today .
 To note the bridge of Madame (XVIII° century) which strides over Artuby , as well as over strolls in the
gorges of this river ; Or still the path which lines the magnificent forest of the mountain of Brouis .

 Being situated at feet of the Mountain Lachens , in 1000 metres in height , La Bastide is a nest of greenery ,

 The village was already quoted in the XIII° century , but it was destroyed during the religious wars .
Reconstructed a little more low , one finds there a very beautiful house of the XVII° century , with its closed
yard and its turrets , which shelters the city hall .The church Ste Madeleine dates it of 1676 and shelters a
very beautiful gold-coloured wooden altarpiece .

 In the center of circus formed by Brouis , Malay and Lachens , in a case of greenery was born , doutbless in
the time Roman , a site which will become later La Roque Esclapon .
 A path brings to the ancient village , the vestiges of the strong bulwarks of which one can again see . It is in
1178 when a building belonging to St Victor's abbey of Marseille , became "Esclapon's castle" . It borders the
chapel St Alexis (Quoted in 1128) and the another castle , that of Lubi . But the religous wars being still crossed
there , the destroyed village was reconstructed in the current place .
To note the church Ste Marguerite reconstructed in 1860 on the place of the primitive church , the chapel ND
and its Clavary (XV° century) and the chapel St Claude (Ancient chapel of white penitent) .
 La Roque Esclapon is also a very good site of strolls , as well as parapentes and hang-gliders .

 The highest village of the Var , in 1100 metres in height , consists of several hamlets and farms in the valley , and
the old village . The old feudal village situated on a rocky hook became one of the most beautiful villages of

 Welcoming stage , situated on a plateau in 900 metres in height , Comps is a tourist door between
prealps and Mediterranean coast .
 Comp's site , already lived in times prehistoric , was ownership of the monks of Lérins then the Knight
Templars before becoming a village in 1200 . But the village and its fortifications were destroyed and shaved in
1300 . It remains of this time the magnificent strengthened chapel St André , ancient templare chapel built in 1100 ,
it dominated the village in 963 metres in height (Classified ancient memorial) .
Also to note the chapels St Jean and St Didier , buildings Knight Templars of Romanic type .
 The marked out roads of strolls allows strolls on foot either in bike , towards the gorges of Artuby , or the
discovery of the old bridge of the tree stump and the "Bad bridge" . But , do not too much get lost in the south
of the village which occupied by Canjuers's military camps .
